Rise of the White Sun is one of the deepest political simulator set in the Chinese Warlord era.

Play as every significative faction of 1920’s China : the Guomindang, the Chinese Communist Party, the Warlords and even the masters of the underworld - the Green Gang.

December 1926: as the victorious National Revolutionary Army units commanded by Bai Chongxi are approaching Shanghai, CCP and GMD agents are busy planning an uprising. Behind the scene, high-ranking warlord officers are negociating a comfortable future for themselves in exchange for betraying their masters while Jiang Jieshi is plotting with the Green Gang to get rid of his communist allies.

This is a time of dishonest plots and brutal action.

Gameplay

As a GMD agent:
Mobilise your forces to organise merchant militias, weaken the warlord control over the city and corrupt as many warlord officers as you can.

As a CCP activist:
Strive to rally the factory workers to launch a general srike, paving the ground for an armed uprising. Workers' militias will be instrumental in seizing power but they need weapons to fight with!

As a warlord officer:
Do your best to contain communist unrest while maintaing good relations with both the foreign powers and the Guomindang with which you are negotiating to switch sides. You have a strong but quickly eroding position…

As a Green Gang Boss :
Protect and extend your influence over the factories against communist trade unionists and make strategic deals with the Warlords and the GMD to preserve the lucrative opium trade.
