The Neighborhood is a humorous simulator of life in a small town. The player has the opportunity to direct the fate of a new member of this local community. He will get to know local neighbors and unique stories, he will take part in various exciting and often funny events. At the same time, having the opportunity to build your own house and garden, adapting it to your own needs and preferences.




House and garden construction system
We give the player the opportunity to build his own house from scratch. Starting from the foundations, through painting the walls and choosing the floor, to arranging the furniture. The player will have to pay with the in-game currency for building walls, furniture and decorations. Some of the unique decorations can be unlocked only by exploring the game world, progressing in the story campaign, participating in random events. The player has the option to freely change the decor at any time of the game, if he has enough funds to do so. At a certain stage of the story, we give the player the opportunity to sell the current plot and buy a new - larger one. By providing a large number of items, we provide wide possibilities in the device of your socket.
The player's house, apart from its purely visual value, is of great importance in the mechanics of the game world. The player will have to take care of things such as a fridge, shower, bed and other things to meet the basic needs of the player. Additionally, the overall style of a player's house will have an impact on the attitude and reputation of other residents.



City and NPC
The game will take place in a previously carefully designed city. The appearance of the city is based on a classic small American town. There will be standard buildings that should be found in such a town: fire brigade, police, a small clinic, church and residents' houses. Some houses of the more eccentric residents will reflect the characters who live in them. The city map and landmarks will allow you to navigate the city intuitively, but the player will still be provided with a dynamic city map. Based on the player's decisions and behavior, the city will change its appearance.



Economy and player resources
The main resource available to the player will be the virtual currency. You can spend it on furniture, building a house, but also use it in a story campaign or random events (e.g. a bribe for a policeman). The player will earn money during the events of the story campaign, as well as by completing optional tasks, finding secrets and performing simple repetitive tasks.



Story campaign
The story campaign begins with the arrival of the player's character to a small town. Throughout the story, the player will first get to know the inhabitants who live in the city, then he will be able to win their sympathy or hostility in the process of resolving disputes between neighbors. At the beginning, the game will loosely present the history of the city and the adventures of its inhabitants, finally forming stories in the finale, which will be a summary of the player's behavior during the plot. The game will not force the player to constantly follow the campaign missions, the player can at any time take care of optional side quests and events not related to the main storyline.



Reputation system
During events in the game world, the player will shape how the inhabitants will perceive him through the dialogue / selection options. By ensuring the favor of the resident, we will be able to receive additional missions, gifts from him, and also help us in some situations. By causing hostility, neighbors can cause trouble and harm the player, but hostility in one of the neighbors can win the gratitude of another.



A simulation of a character's life
The game will have a simple life simulation system, the player's character will have to meet such simple needs as eating, drinking, personal hygiene or leisure.



Player character development system
The game will have a simple character development system that allows you to unlock certain decisions during the events of the game world. This system will allow the player to develop skills such as charisma (unlocking additional dialogue options) or endurance (allowing the player to carry heavy loads and for a longer run).
