As idle as you want: 'Desktopia' simulates a fantasy medieval village along the bottom of your desktop, allowing you to work, watch, or play something else while your village grows. You can jump in at any time to make the big decisions, to go off to battle, to set up new constructions, or to just harvest resources - the choice is yours!
Gameplay:
As Idle as you want?
- Jump in at any time an take on the life of a villager, soldier, or hero.
- Micromanage the build order or let your chosen mayor decide.
- Watch as the camera follows random villagers about their daily lives, soldiers heading down the road to fight off bandits, or village heroes fighting monsters.
- Grab your warhammer and head off with the soldiers on their daily raids, spend your time harvesting berries from bushes, punching rats to death, cleaning up trash, or just let the villagers do it all.
Features:
- A huge single road (over 100,000 pixels wide by 336 high) along which your village grows, easily displayed on just a portion of your screen.
- All real time action, with live updates. No 'cheating' the simulation with offscreen calculations!
- Dozens of building to construct from houses. blacksmiths, training yards, bakeries, trade posts, taverns, churches, tailors, powder workshops...
- A tech tree that allows for better construction and the recruitment of better soldiers and heroes.
- Detailed information on each villager, house, or building.
- Real time action all along the village road:
- Bandit attacks
- Creepy crypts
- Deliveries
- Harvestable resources
- Takes up a limited amount of screen space allowing you to browse the web, do your shopping, watch Netflix, or play something else at the same time!
- Every villager can fight, get ill, and have needs; whether commoner, baker, soldier or hero!
- Separate HTML popup windows for Tech Tree, Game Log, Village Overview and Construction Menu allows for an uncluttered game world and the user's choice on how much screen they want taken up.
Gameplay:
- Help (or watch) your village grow from a single person into a bustling metropolis.
- Take part in live ABS battles to help clear the road for further construction, or watch as your soldiers do it!
- Quest alongside heroes as they take on monsters.
